One of the most prestigious international basketball tournaments heads into its final stages this week as the quarterfinals begin. EuroBasket 2025 is being played in Poland, Latvia, Cyprus and Finland with some of the biggest names in the NBA taking part in the event, including stars Luka Dončić and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Dončić and Antetokounmpo were the story on Sunday. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar dropped 42 points to lead Slovenia to a win over Italy. Dončić dropped 22 of his 42 points in the first quarter to make a statement early. While his scoring pace slowed down, Dončić was still excellent in the 84-77 win.

Antetokounmpo was nearly as good against Israel. The Milwaukee Bucks star dropped 37 points in a narrow 84-79 win. No other player on Greece scored more than 11 points in the victory.

Sunday began with an early upset. Despite having the 2024 NBA Draft No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher, France was upset by Georgia. Risacher struggled in the contest, scoring just seven points on 2-of-8 shooting. France came into the contest already down Alex Sarr, who was ruled out for the rest of the event due to a calf injury.

Some of the other big names at the event include Kristaps Porziņģis, Nikola Vučević, Lauri Markkanen, Bilal Coulibaly, Franz Wagner, Jonas Valančiūnas, Alperen Şengün and Deni Avdija, per Yahoo Sports’ Morten Stig Jensen.

Notably, France will not have San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama or Minnesota Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert for the tournament. Wembanyama missed time last year due to a blood clot and is prioritizing rest this offseason. Gobert did not deal with a major injury last season, but also cited rest as a reason for skipping EuroBasket 2025.
