Economists predict inflation of 0.1 to 0.3 percent for the current year. This indicates that wages will also increase in real terms.

Swiss workers have received a significant pay rise on average this year. This increase is higher than expected inflation, which means they should end up with more money in their wallets, albinfo.ch reports.

According to a press release from the Federal Statistical Office (BFS), nominal wages are expected to have increased by 2.3 percent this year. The BFS estimates the data based on cumulative wage data, writes srf.ch.

Economists predict inflation of 0.1 to 0.3 percent for the current year. This indicates that wages will also increase in real terms this year, that is, taking inflation into account.

In 2024, nominal wages in Switzerland increased by 1.8 percent. Including the annual inflation rate of 1.1 percent, real wages should have increased by 0.7 percent. In contrast, in the previous two years there was a real decline in wages.

The current figure for nominal wage development for 2025 is an initial estimate because the Federal Office for Social Affairs (FSO) discontinued its previous estimate after the first quarter.
