Sarah Bonnici is the latest former Eurovision participant to be announced as a coach on The Voice Kids Malta.

Sarah Bonnici, who represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Sweden, has been announced as the third Coach on The Voice Kids Malta. Sarah represented Malta with “The Loop”, where she finished 16th in her Semi-Final, scoring 13 points. She previously attempted to represent Malta at Junior Eurovision and was a dancer as part of Malta’s 2010 entry in Minsk, Belarus.

The Voice Kids Malta will start on September 29, as Malta selects its representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Tbilisi. The contest will be aired on weekdays.

An application process for The Voice Kids Malta was held in June, with singers applying with the song they wish to compete in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Malta is one of four countries that is using The Voice Kids to select their Junior Eurovision 2025 representative. The others are Croatia, Poland and Portugal.

Ramires Sciberras represented Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Madrid with “Stilla ċkejkna”. He finished 5th in the final with 153 points. This was the first Junior Eurovision entry to be performed entirely in Maltese and Malta’s best result since 2018.

Malta debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and has gone on to win the contest twice. In 2013, on their return to the competition in Kyiv, Gaia Cauchi won the contest with “The Start”. She was the first winner of a Eurovision event for Malta. In 2015, Destiny Chukunyere took victory in Sofia with the song “Not My Soul”. The country has hosted the contest twice, the first time in 2014 and then again in 2016.
