The suspension of the US strategic dialogue with Kosovo, analyst Adri Nurellari, says has nothing to do with the people of Kosovo, but with the positions and statements of Albin Kurti. Nurellari says he hopes that those who voted for Kurti will reflect and give him a message in the local elections.

Analyst Adri Nurellari sees the suspension of the US strategic dialogue with Kosovo as a slap in the face to the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti. Invited to Report TV, Nurellari says that the suspension of the strategic dialogue shows that we have reached the peak of foreign policy failure. For Nurellari, this action of the US has nothing to do with the people of Kosovo, as they are careful to clarify in the statement that everything has to do with Kurti’s positions and statements.

“It is the lowest point in Kosovo’s diplomatic situation. It is a serious, shameful act, in fact this shows that we have reached the peak of failure, of foreign policy. It is not a protocol aspect, it is a real slap, a blow to the Kurti government and to him in a special way. They have emphasized his personal element in the statement, and it is even said that it is the recent actions and statements of the prime minister that led them to this decision. They have tried to make a difference between the prime minister and the people of Kosovo. This shows that they want to maintain long-term relations, but they have a problem with a group of usurpers of power. It is serious, because the US is a strategic ally”, said Nurellari.

Nurellari says that with Albin Kurti in charge, Kosovo has not had a single visit to the US State Department for 4 years. He adds that not only with the US, but with Kurti at the helm, Kosovo does not have good relations with either Tirana or Brussels.

“The lowest point in Kosovo’s democratic position. If you look at the history of Kosovo, all leaders have had direct access to the highest levels in the US, starting with Ibrahim Rrugova, but also Isa Musfata and Abdulla Hoti. Here we have 4 years since we have had a high-level visit to the State Department. This has nothing to do with America, nor with Trump, it has to do with Kurti. With him we have the lowest point in the relationship with Tirana, but also with Brussels we continue to keep Kosovo excluded from aid, it considers it sanctioned”, Nurellari stressed.

In the end, Nurellari expresses his hope that those who voted for Kurti will reflect and send him a message in the local elections against his arrogance and behavior detrimental to Kosovo’s interests.

“This is a dramatic point, I hope that those who voted for Kurti will reflect on the local elections. I hope that there will be the first signal against this arrogance, adventurous, reckless and very harmful behavior of Kurti for the interests of Kosovo,” concludes Nurellari.
