RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Rapid City Council voted to appoint five business owners to serve on the Mount Rushmore Road Business Improvement District Board Monday night.

The individuals appointed – Shon Hanczyc, Debra Jensen, Laci Sosa, Curtis Rising, and Scott Vincent – are all part of the Mount Rushmore Road Group. With the business improvement district’s establishment this summer, they’ll have new avenues to build upon the beautification and safety initiatives the group has been working on.

“I think you could argue that it is probably the most important corridor in Rapid City because it does lead to the city center and all the services of Rapid City,” Jensen said. “So, it’s very important for the community, and that’s why it’s important for the Mount Rushmore Road Group.”

The Mount Rushmore Road Group hosts events such as the South Dakota Legacy Speaker Series. The next one will take place Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Dahl Arts Center.
