Former senior US official James Rubin was asked at the Special Court whether he was aware of a 1998 United Nations (UN) report that spoke of the alleged abduction of Serbian, Albanian and Roma civilians, and Serbian police officers, by people believed to belong to the KLA.

“I read a UN report on Kosovo, but I was very skeptical about that report,” Rubin said.

“Because, UN bodies have not described the situation very well very often,” he said.

“So, I was aware of the UN reporting, but the report was not necessarily credible,” Rubin added.

He said that he considered the Red Cross reports more credible.
