The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Dimal Basha, received the Ambassador of France, Olivier Guerot, in a meeting.

In this meeting, as announced by the Kosovo Assembly, there was also talk of deepening cooperation between Kosovo and France, including in the field of economy.

The field of education was also mentioned as an opportunity for cooperation.

But geostrategic discussions were not left aside either – there was also talk of Russian influence in Europe, as indicated in the communiqué.

“The meeting also addressed issues of geopolitical and strategic importance, such as Russian influence in Europe,” the statement said.

France’s support for Kosovo to be removed from the European Union measures was also mentioned.

Today, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Dimal Basha, welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Kosovo, Mr. Olivier Guérot, to a meeting.

The meeting took place in the spirit COOPERATION mutual, reflecting the mutual interest in strong ties between the two states.

The discussions focused on deepening bilateral relations, with a particular emphasis on the field of education. President Basha and Ambassador Guérot agreed to increase student exchange programs between the two countries, thereby strengthening shared values, ties between peoples, and cooperation between students and universities in our countries.

Another important point of the conversation was the intensification of cooperation with the aim of encouraging investments by French companies in Kosovo, in order to generate new jobs and at the same time further affirm the potential of Kosovar youth, which is professionally prepared, innovative and oriented towards technological development and beyond.

The meeting also addressed issues of geopolitical and strategic importance, such as Russian influence in Europe, the need for support from France for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, and the necessity of removing the measures from the European Union against our country. President Basha emphasized that these steps have a positive impact on the further strengthening of democracy and help protect freedoms and human rights in the country.

The President of the Assembly also expressed to the Ambassador the commitment of Kosovo institutions to the protection of the rights of all communities and the importance of full integration in the function of a society that coexists in respect, equality, peace and full development within the framework of the overall prosperity of the Republic of Kosovo.
