The man who was struck by a car outside a Malta bar will be taken off life support in the coming days, according to a statement from the family.
The organizer of the family’s GoFundMe shared information that Joshua Soden has been declared brain dead. Soden was struck by a car in the parking lot of Bentley’s Tavern on Sept. 8. He was pinned under the vehicle.
Soden’s family said that the trauma was too much for his body to handle.
Soden’s organs will be donated, and Albany Medical Center will hold an honor walk to celebrate that donation, the family stated.
The family said that donations to the GoFundMe will go to funeral expenses and outstanding medical costs.
“Over these past days, the love, prayers, and generosity shown for Joshua have been overwhelming, and his family is so grateful for every message, donation, and act of kindness,” they said.

Police said Morgan Lange, 33, of Glenville, was driving the vehicle.
Investigators have said that Soden and Lange were co-workers. Lange called 911 after the cash, and she allegedly tried to get someone to dispose of an alcoholic beverage that was in her car.
Lange’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.12%, police said.
She has been charged with second-degree vehicular assault, tampering with physical evidence, DWI and traffic violations.
