US Congressman Brian Mast, also chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, has presented an amendment to be approved in Congress, through which the support of the United States of America is sought for Kosovo’s membership in NATO.
This was announced by the “Albanians for America” organization.
The organization “Albanians for America” has further announced that this amendment by Republican from Florida, Brian Mast, also calls for increased US engagement in the Balkans and clear language in relation to the region.
“This historic step recognizes the strategic importance of our region and sets clear U.S. policy priorities,” it further states.
Regarding this, the well-known Albanian activist in the US, Martin Vulaj, has also written.
Vulaj, in a Facebook post, calls it excellent news.

Big news comes from Washington!
For the first time in more than two decades, important language on the Balkans has been reauthorized, thanks to Mast’s leadership.
This historic step recognizes the strategic importance of our region and sets clear priorities for American policy:
Supporting Kosovo’s independence and future NATO membership
Pressure on Serbia to reduce ties with Russia and China
Exposing Serbia’s cooperation with Russia, China and Iran in technology and security
Expanding sanctions against those who hinder peace and stability in the Western Balkans
We are proud that Albanians for America has been actively engaged with policymakers throughout this process, ensuring that the voices of our community and our homeland are heard in Washington.
A big thank you to Congressman Keith Self, Republican of Texas, for getting this critical language included in the Speaker’s assessment, and to Speaker Mast, Republican of Florida, for his leadership and bringing this issue to the floor for the first time since 2002.
Together, we continue to strengthen the bond between the United States and Kosovo, ensuring peace and stability for the region and ensuring that the sacrifices of our people are honored with lasting freedom.. /Telegraph/
