Kosovo Customs has announced that during an operation at Pristina International Airport, three cases of attempted smuggling were prevented, including two involving phones and one case of undeclared cash.

According to the official statement, during the search of a passenger arriving from an international flight, customs officers discovered several phones hidden on his body, which were suspected to be destined for the black market. Smartphones were also found on another passenger during the attempted smuggling.

In the same case, during the baggage check, 36,500 undeclared euros were discovered, of which 9,000 euros were confiscated, in accordance with the law regulating the circulation of monetary assets at the border.

Customs has announced that the case has been referred for further investigation to the Kosovo Customs Investigation Directorate, to determine legal responsibilities and other procedures.

The institution emphasized that it remains committed to preventing smuggling, money laundering, and illegal activities that harm the country’s economy and security.
