General Kadri Kastrati, former commander of the KSF, has commented on Serbia’s military parade held in recent days in Belgrade, describing it as a political maneuver to preserve domestic power and display destabilizing ambitions in the region.

According to him, Serbia’s military parade had some clear political messages.

“This parade wanted to convey several messages, first of all about the problems that Serbia has been facing for several months and about facing numerous protests and attempts to overthrow the current government. With this parade, it also wanted to demonstrate a force that would scare its people into not going further with these protests,” Kastrati said on Euronews Albania.

He also spoke about the statements of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who, according to him, is trying to use disinformation and fear to suppress domestic protests.

“Secondly, Vučić said two days ago that he received information from the Soviet or Russian secret service, which said that on October 1st the government in Serbia would be overthrown. And I think that, considering the relations that they have not had well, with this information he intervenes in the protests,” the general added.

Finally, Kastrati emphasized that Serbia remains a destabilizing factor in the region, with clear intentions to influence neighboring countries.

“The third is that Serbia is a destabilizing factor, with territorial goals in Bosnia and Kosovo and to intervene in Montenegro and North Macedonia, where it will turn the Serbian world,” Kastrati concluded.
