TOKYO – Former Utah track & field star Josefine Eriksen and Team Norway advance to the 4x400m relay finals at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo after running a national record time in Japan National Stadium Saturday evening there.
Eriksen led things off for the Norwegians, running a split of 51.31 – which was third fastest among those in the opening leg. The Norwegians would go on to run a national record time of 3:23.84 to take second in their heat and earned the automatic qualifier into the finals. That time ended up being good for third-overall between the 16 nations competing.
Over in the 4x100m relay, Dinedye Denis and Côte d’Ivoire wasn’t able to advance out of the prelims after running a combined time of 44.64.
ON TO THE FINALS
Eriksen and Team Norway will compete for a spot on the podium on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 5:35 a.m. (MDT). Fans in the United States can watch live on Peacock. Fans can also follow along via live results.
