Abramowski, an ERC Rookie of the Year nominee, earned the highly sought after opportunity to step up to Rally2 level for winning the ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy, a feat he achieved on the Barum Czech Rally Zlín finale last month.

The Fiesta Rally2 outing with M-Sport Poland was initially planned for JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion earlier this month but delayed to Croatia Rally next month due to the ERC3 title still being up for grabs. And because Abramowski requires five more points in Croatia to put the ERC3 crown out of Hubert Lakowski’s reach, the 19-year-old will delay his Fiesta Rally2 prize drive until the opening round of the 2026 FIA European Rally Championship.

Speaking after a sensor issue forced his retirement from the opening leg in Wales, Abramowski said: “The issue made some problems for us with the championship. We have 25 points advantage, it is a lot of points but we still have to compete in Croatia to get the ERC3 title.

“It’s not possible in this season to take this prize drive so we have to wait to next season. We were thinking it could be hard to manage a big advantage with the points [to take the prize drive this year] but it’s like this. We’re still leading ERC3 and everything is in our hands. Now we’re fully focused on Croatia Rally.”

Abramowski, whose Pirelli-equipped Ford Fiesta Rally3 is co-driven by Jakub Wróbel, tops the ERC3 standings by 25 points ahead of his countryman Kowalczyk. Croatia Rally hosts the deciding round from 3 – 5 October.
