Representative Thinlay Chukki and Joint Secretary Gedun Dhonyoe from the Department of Education visited the Weekend Tibetan Language and Cultural Schools in Zurich, Luzein, and Aargau, Switzerland, on 20 September 2025 to conduct an educational assessment.

They were accompanied by Tenzin Choesang from the Tibet Bureau and Karma Choekyi, Director of the Tibetan Language and Cultural Schools under the Tibetan Community in Switzerland and Liechtenstein (TCSL).

In the morning, the delegation visited the Zurich Tibetan Weekend School, where Joint Secretary Gedun Dhonyoe emphasized the vital role of parents and teachers in a child’s education. He also spoke about patterns of psychological development in children.

In the afternoon, the delegation proceeded to the Luzein Tibetan Weekend School as per their schedule.

On the following day, they visited the Aargau Tibetan Weekend School, where Representative Thinlay Chukki highlighted the Chinese Communist Party’s repressive policy of forcibly enrolling Tibetan children into colonial-style boarding schools — a measure aimed at erasing Tibetan identity and culture.
