On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Poland presented the Camp Jomsborg training center, created by the Norwegian Armed Forces, which aims to support Ukrainian troops. The new center is located on the grounds of the Training Range Center of the Ground Forces in Demba-Lipa. The opening ceremony was attended by the Polish Minister of Defense – Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Norwegian Minister of Defense Tore O. Sandvik, the Estonian Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur, and Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense Yuriy Myronenko.
«This shows the capacity to train Ukrainian service members on a large scale, near Ukraine – in the Subcarpathian region, in a prestigious location, at a training ground that is effectively starting its second life», – said the Polish Minister of Defense.
It is noted that Camp Jomsborg will be able to accommodate 1,200 service members at the same time.
«I believe that an important element is the use of Ukrainian experience gained during the war in Ukraine: to implement the best counter-drone solutions and to utilize the capabilities available to the Ukrainian army on the front», – added Kosiniak-Kamysz.
