With the growing power of AI in our world, there is also a growing fear. While it can be useful for writing, editing, and researching there is some concern that AI is going to take a lot of jobs. There may be some truth to that fear, but there are ways to meet AI directly and protect your job.

According to an article published by Final Round AI, AI has eliminated almost 78,000 jobs in 2025 alone. The top fields that are being eliminated are software engineers and developers, human resources staff, and content writers and copywriters.

The pallet industry may not seem like an area in danger. While those who work in trades definitely have greater job security, office staff is a little more concerning. We can’t stop what is coming. However, we can tackle the fear head-on.

In the Final Round article, the best way to beat AI is to be the best one at using it. If you can learn AI tools and be proficient at contributing to the creative and relational aspect of your job, you have skills AI can’t replicate. When that happens, your role becomes an integral part of the company.

Lay aside your fear, shift your mind-set, and ready yourself to integrate AI into your job. Below are some strategies for turning AI from an enemy to an ally.

Become an Expert

In order to become an expert at AI, research all of the AI tools and learn how to use a few or all of them well. Familiarize yourself with general programs such as Chat GPT, Git Hub, Co-Pilot as well as pallet AI tools such as Zira or Pallet Track. Read books, listen to podcasts, watch videos, and go to conferences – take the time to learn. Be the person who creates a bridge with AI instead of fighting it. Be the best at AI operations, and your skills can rise above those who don’t take the time to learn how to utilize it.

Hone non-AI Skills

AI will only be able to perform repetitive, mundane tasks. To go beyond, you must also focus on developing areas AI can’t reach. Creativity, strategic thinking, emotional intelligence and data analysis and interpretation in addition to AI skills. As employees strengthen these skills, employers should create more job positions requiring a hybrid approach of both AI and human skills. AI has its strengths but also limitations. Learn those limitations and how they can become your strengths.

Perfect Your People Skills

One thing AI can’t do is people skills. Navigating conversations with your team, networking strategies, and leadership can’t be replicated by AI. Continue to build intrapersonal skills, encourage, and guide fellow employees. Knowing the needs and culture of your workforce will help you utilize AI and its benefits.

Identify Your “Why”

AI doesn’t have a “why,” only a “what.” Identify your “why” so that can be your focus. It can be a personal mission statement, so commit to being a lifelong learner to keep your focus on your “why.” Doing this keeps you able to adapt to the changing technology. It keeps you ready for what may be coming down the road regarding industry trends.

Don’t Wait It Out

This isn’t the time to panic, but the longer you wait to dive into the waters of AI, the more jobs are lost. Take a look at your current position within your company. In what ways can you begin to incorporate AI? Communications, social media, and employee management are all areas that can benefit from AI tools. How can your personal skills be polished to enhance AI in your role? And vice versa.

The more you learn about AI and strengthen your skills, your confidence will grow, and any fear will diminish. You will begin to use AI as a partner and not something to fear. You will begin to trust your own wisdom and abilities as well as be open to learn more, preparing you for whatever shifts in technology and work culture that may come down the road.
