Archbishop Charles Scicluna on Friday received the Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation, Fabio Attard.
Fr. Attard is the 11th successor of Don Bosco and the worldwide leader of the Salesian Order. He was elected to this role last March.
Archbishop Scicluna welcomed Attard at the Archbishop’s Palace in Mdina during his first official visit to Malta since becoming the global leader of the Salesians.
Attard was accompanied by the Provincial of the Salesians in Malta, Fr Eric Cachia, the Regional Councillor for Central and Northern Europe, Fr Roman Jachimowicz, and his Personal Secretary, Fr Thathireddy Vijayabhaskar.
During his official visit to Malta, Fr Attard was scheduled to meet the President of the Republic of Malta, President Myriam Spiteri Debono and visit Dar tal-Kleru in Birkirkara.
