Due to flooding along the Bulgarian coast, a man died in the resort of Elenite. The body of the deceased was found in an underground garage of one of the buildings. The information is confirmed by the Bulgarian National Radio.
Six women have been evacuated from the settlement that is part of Nessebar Municipality, including three Polish citizens. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, access to flooded buildings is hindered. More than 10 fire brigades, divers, and an amphibious vessel from Varna are on the scene.
Dir.bg, citing the mayor of Saint Vlas, Ivan Nikolov, reports that local authorities are investigating reports of a car with two adults that was dragged into the sea by the floodwaters. He called the situation “extremely difficult”.
To address the flood’s consequences, Burgas authorities have sought support from the Atia Naval Base.

As a result of a heavy downpour, a surge forms that originates from Elenite and leads to the flooding of all hotels and buildings. Reports have come in of cars and buildings submerged, as well as people in distress. Two fire service teams were immediately dispatched

By order of Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, a partial state of emergency has been declared in the Burgas region, notably in the areas of the village of Rybalsko, Maryinka, and Chernitsko.
