KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has begun the search for a new location for its West Precinct.

According to Sheriff Tom Spangler, the sheriff’s office will be closing its West Precinct in Turkey Creek effective Oct. 10 due to losing the lease for that facility.

Because of this, Spangler said KCSO is actively searching for an alternative location that is affordable and within its budget.

Spangler said residents can still get help after Oct. 10 by calling 911 or the non-emergency line at 865-215-2243. Residents can also visit other precincts or headquarters for assistance, reports, records or fingerprinting.

“We’ll share updates as we make progress on securing a new west-area location,” Spangler said. “Thank you for your patience and support as we work to be responsible with taxpayer dollars.”
