UTICA, N.Y. — The City of Utica is eager to start making snow at Val Bialas Ski Center but faces challenges in getting the necessary equipment operational.
General construction bids for the project, which includes construction, plumbing and electrical work, were due on Oct. 2. However, no bids were submitted.
The project will be put out for bid again.
Last month, the mayor mentioned that the chairlift at Val Bialas was nearing a return to service, with all necessary parts located and installed.
