WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) — Lowcountry residents are invited to join the South Carolina Coastal Conservation League and the Edisto River Canoe and Kayak Trail Commission for an Edisto River paddle excursion, where the groups will answer questions about the proposed Canadys gas plant.
This three to four hour paddle will pass by the proposed site of the Canadys gas plant, and individuals with the Edisto River Canoe and Kayak Trail Commission will be prepared to answer questions about the project.
Some anticipated topics include the associated pipeline that would cut through the ACE Basin, transmission line upgrades, electric rate impacts, and the data center boom that’s driving the forecasted energy demand growth being cited to justify the project.
