Andy Robertson and Scotland staged a comeback victory to beat Greece 3-1 at Hampden Park on Thursday night, keeping their World Cup qualification hopes firmly on track.
For more than an hour, this appeared destined to be another evening of Scottish heartbreak.
Greece thoroughly dominated proceedings, with Vangelis Pavlidis spurning a glorious eighth-minute opportunity at the back post before Kostas Tsimikas eventually broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute with a composed finish into the bottom corner.
The visitors had controlled possession throughout, creating numerous chances while Scotland failed to register a single shot on target in the opening period.
Within two minutes of falling behind, Scotland were level thanks to a scrappy Ryan Christie goal.
Just when Greece appeared to have weathered the storm, Scotland struck again through Lewis Ferguson’s first international goal.

Scottish media ranked the Liverpool defender favourably, with the Scotsman giving him a 7/10 and writing:
“The captain had his hands full all evening as Greece pummelled both his left flank and the other side looking for joy down the wings.”
“Had a couple of desperate defensive moments and the Greek opener emanated from his area of the pitch.”
“Managed to nullify the precocious talent that is Karetsas when the teenager came on and floated in the cross that led to Ferguson’s goal. ”
Herald Scotland instead gave him a 6/10 and wrote:
“Unable to bomb forward with his usual regularity, the captain wasn’t seen much as the attacking threat we know he can be.”
“Many of Greece’s attacks, including for the opening goal, came down the right hand side, too.”
“Hadn’t been one of the Liverpool star’s better nights until sending in the free-kick from which Lewis Ferguson scored.”
