LAKE CHARLES— McNeese senior Kayla Willson led McNeese volleyball with 12 kills, but the Cowgirls couldn’t overcome a bad hitting day in a straight set (25-19, 25-10, 15-10) Southland Conference loss to league leading Stephen F. Austin Saturday. It’s the fifth straight match Wilson records 10 or more kills.
McNeese (5-13, 1-5 SLC) ended the match with a .060 hitting percent while the Ladyjacks ended the day with a .470 hitting percent.
McNeese will travel to Northwestern State next Thursday, Oct. 15 before returning home for three straight matches beginning with an Oct. 18 match against East Texas A&M.
SFA improves to 11-6 overall and is the only remaining undefeated team in the SLC at 6-0.
