      Very little has been achieved on anything over the last 15 or so years, the folks in Westminster have essentially stolen millions from the taxpayer for a very long pantomime session.

      Yeah, because they don’t give a shit about the railways. Even their plan to introduce Great British Railways has all but stalled and died, that’s after they held a vote to decide the location for the new GBR headquarters.

      Did you know that most rolling stock on the railway isn’t actually owned by the companies themselves? It’s actually leased to them. Even nationalised companies (LNER etc) pay to lease the trains. Why? Government! Nationalising the railways goes against them milking every penny they can from it.

      Hell, the Department for Transport gets a good chunk of fare revenue for every ticket sold. And they get money paid to them from the franchise holders. They have no reason to want things to change.
