After more than three decades, Air Serbia is resuming direct flights between Belgrade and Toronto, expanding its North American network and providing faster, more convenient connections for passengers and the Serbian diaspora.

The service, starting May 23, 2026, marks a significant milestone in Air Serbia’s strategic development and underscores the airline’s commitment to strengthening ties between Serbia and North America.

Flights will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A330‑200 aircraft. Tickets went on sale on October 16 and are available via Air Serbia’s website, contact center, and sales outlets.

In an announcement, Air Serbia CEO Jiří Marek highlighted the route’s cultural and economic significance.

“Toronto is known as one of the world’s most important destinations with a large Serbian diaspora,” he said. “This direct service goes beyond commercial considerations—it connects two countries, two cultures, and two communities, facilitating faster and easier communication. It will make travel more convenient for passengers from Serbia and the region to reach family and friends.”

The Toronto route follows the airline’s establishment of direct flights to New York and Chicago, marking Toronto as its third North American destination.

Marek also underlined the role of the new route in positioning Belgrade as a transit hub.

“Establishing a strong presence in the North American market aligns with our vision to link Europe and North America,” he added. “We aim to continue developing our network of destinations to make Serbia a more accessible and attractive location for business and investment.”

Passengers flying to Toronto will benefit from onward connections via Belgrade to multiple European cities, including Athens, Budapest, Dubrovnik, Heraklion, Istanbul, Ljubljana, Bucharest, Prague, Sarajevo, Thessaloniki, Skopje, Sofia, Split, Podgorica, Tirana, Tivat, Vienna, Zagreb, and Zurich.

The reintroduction of the Belgrade–Toronto route not only strengthens Air Serbia’s North American network but also reflects the airline’s broader ambition to enhance global connectivity while serving the needs of the Serbian community abroad.
