Speedway GP star Andzejs Lebedevs and Danish racer Anders Thomsen return to lead Vojens club Sønderjylland Elite Speedway’s quest for Speedwayligaen gold in Denmark next year.

The duo played key roles as the club won the silver medals this season, and they will be joined in a largely unchanged squad by Danish stars Mads Hansen and Jonas Knudsen, plus 2025 SGP2 bronze medallist Mikkel Andersen.

SES director Jacob Olsen is happy with a side that combines medal potential with future promise as they bid to claim the Speedwayligaen crown won by Slangerup this year.

He said: “We have a strong unity and prioritise talent development as highly as possible medals. We were happy with silver in the Super Final because Slangerup was in a special class at home. It was almost like a cycling race where you can celebrate being second after Tadej Pogacar.”

SES has confirmed Danish teenager Niklas Holm Jakobsen will join their squad, and Olsen is looking into further additions.

He added: “We are working on strengthening the squad, but we just need to get the puzzle around average rules and the foreign leagues in place.”

Elsewhere, double SGP2 world champion Mateusz Cierniak has completed a switch to Outrup side Region Varde from Fjelsted.
