As reported by Haluk Görgün, head of Turkey’s Directorate of Defense Industry, on his page on the Turkish NSosyal social network.
Turkey announced successful test of its own ballistic missile developed under the national defense program. The information was confirmed by Haluk Görgün, head of the Defense Industry Directorate, on his page in the Turkish social network NSosyal.
“Silent preparation. One moment… And a trace left in the sky. A beautiful day, another successful test. Step by step the range increases, the accuracy of strikes improves. Thanks to Roketsan and everyone who contributed”

Characteristics and Purpose of the Typhoon Missile
According to the manufacturer, the Typhoon’s range exceeds 280 km, length 6.5 m, diameter 610 mm, mass 2300 kg. The guidance system is coordinate-based. The missile is designed to engage a wide range of targets, including air defense systems, light armored and unarmored combat complexes, command and control centers, hangars of military aviation, as well as critically important facilities.
A high cruising speed increases the missile’s resilience to threats from air defense, while exceptional precision reduces the likelihood of collateral damage. The missile has a high level of electronic resilience in conditions of suppression of global navigation satellite systems.
In addition, the missile system is equipped with the ability to quickly change the launch location and to operate reliably under different weather conditions – day or night.
In July, Turkey conducted acceptance tests of the Siper missile, intended for high-altitude air defense with a range of about 100 km, after which mass production is planned.
The development underscores the country’s determination to strengthen its defense capabilities through national missile developments and battle-management systems.
