Do you enjoy having an audience? Are visions of future Tony Awards dancing in your head? Or maybe you simply love theater and want to give it a try.

If you think you’ve got the chops, Shadowbox Live (SBX) invites you to tread the boards at the professional resident theater ensemble’s first open auditions in more than 30 years.

Intended to recruit more local performers, auditions will take place at noon on Nov. 8 at the SBX theater, 503 S. Front St. The entrance is on the right side of the building.

The auditions are for non-equity, full-time ensemble members, who will showcase their acting, singing and dancing skills.

Auditioners are asked to prepare a one-minute humorous/comedic monologue, as well as a verse and chorus of a pop or rock song, up to one minute long, to be sung a cappella.

Additionally, auditioners will be taught a short movement sequence, so wear clothing suitable for dancing.

Apply at shadowboxlive.org/about/auditions. For questions, email SBX producing director Julie Klein at julie@sbxlive.org.
