The initiative introduces new, state-of-the-art Bulgaria Visa Application Centres in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi, making the visa process more accessible and eliminating the need for applicants to visit the Bulgarian Embassy in person.
The addendum to the existing agreement was signed on 24 October 2025 by H.E. Dr. Nikolay Yankov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to India, and Ms. Yummi Talwar, Chief Operating Officer – South Asia, VFS Global, at the Embassy of Bulgaria in New Delhi.
Starting November 1, 2025, applicants can submit long-term visa applications at the New Delhi centre, with appointment slots in other cities opening from mid-November. Applicants can book appointments online via visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/bgr.
H.E. Dr. Nikolay Yankov said, “The launch of Bulgaria’s long-term visa services across India marks an important step in strengthening the people-to-people and business ties between our two countries. This initiative will make the application process simpler and more accessible for Indian citizens travelling for study, work, or family reasons.”
Ms. Yummi Talwar added, “Our long-standing partnership with the Government of Bulgaria, established in 2008, is built on trust and service excellence. Extending our services to long-term visas will further enhance convenience and accessibility for applicants across India.”
Applicants can also choose from optional services such as Visa At Your Doorstep, Premium Lounge, Prime Time submission, courier, SMS, and form-filling assistance. VFS Global clarified that these add-on services do not influence processing times or visa outcomes.
VFS Global has been Bulgaria’s trusted visa partner since 2008, currently managing 116 application centres across 31 countries. Its role is limited to front-end administrative support, with final visa decisions resting solely with the Embassy of Bulgaria.
