Jordan Burdue and his 3-year-old son Baylor have been creating Facebook videos to showcase a fun way to select winners of games.

HOLLAND, Ohio — Who doesn’t love picking the winners of games? It’s fun, you can showcase your knowledge of a sport or team and, best of all, bragging rights!

For one Holland family they’ve turned a simple task into a weekly spectacle. Jordan Burdue and his 3-year-old son Baylor are creating social media videos to illustrate high school football picks every week.

“We love football,” Burdue said. “I grew up around sports with my dad Todd and my mom Amy, along with three brothers.”

Burdue grew up in Liberty Center and played football for the Tigers. He’s since then loved traveling around Northwest Ohio to watch different sporting events, which sparked an interest in offering his own personal take on things. Connecting with sports media personalities like Phil Snow (SBS Podcast) and Tory Strock and Lynn Groll (Black Swamp Football) helped reaffirm that notion. It ultimately led to Burdue beginning to predict the 2024 high school football playoffs.

This season, he and his son, Baylor, decided to make a video of their picks, starting in Week One. Then, they made another for Week Two and as each segment passed, the content became more enjoyable to watch.

“We ended at Liberty Center and had my nieces jump on the table after,” Burdue said. “He [Baylor] picked the Tigers and put the Tiger head on. So, that was probably the coolest one.”

This past weekend, the pair embraced the spirit of Halloween and made selections in costume and in front of a neighbor’s outdoor display. As for successfully picking high school football games, the toddler ended up beating his dad with a regular-season record of 39-11. Jordan Burdue finished with a mark of 36-14.

WTOL 11 has been following this dynamic duo throughout the Fall and caught up with the Burdues. The family’s passion and excitement led to them to generating a makeshift football field in the backyard that read “WTOL 11 Sports.”

The three sat down last week to discuss the regular season finale for Big Board Friday and of course made picks in the process:
