On 23 October 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili held a meeting with the head of the visiting Serbian delegation, Nikola Stojanović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Domestic and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Serbia. The meeting took place in Tbilisi on the sidelines of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.

The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the Serbian side for its participation in this high-level event and welcomed the growing partnership between Georgia and Serbia, which continues to develop with increasing dynamism.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual support for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The discussion also focused on prospects for deepening bilateral trade and economic cooperation, highlighting the priority of concluding a Free Trade Agreement between Georgia and Serbia and emphasizing the importance of convening a Joint Intergovernmental Economic Commission. Both sides expressed readiness to further promote contacts between their respective business communities.

The parties also noted with satisfaction the launch of direct air connections between Tbilisi and Belgrade, which is expected to contribute to the strengthening of economic relations, the development of tourism, and the deepening of people-to-people ties.

In conclusion, the sides confirmed their readiness to maintain a close and continuous dialogue and exchanged information on national policies aimed at promoting economic development in both countries.
