The New Zealand Amateur Championship returns as the nation’s premier test of elite amateur golf, bringing together the country’s best men’s and women’s players for five days of stroke-play precision and match-play drama. Since 1893, the championship has crowned New Zealand’s top amateur and remains one of the oldest continuously contested national amateur titles in the world.

The 2025 edition features 36 holes of stroke play over the first two days, followed by three days of match-play elimination rounds to determine the national champions on Sunday, November 2.

Mitchel Kale, the number one seed going into match play, defeats Isaac Steel, 1 up in regulation over 36 holes to be come the 2025 New Zealand Men’s Amateur Champion. On the Women’s side, Chloe So, the underdog of the Women’s final, outlasted 1 seed, Teresa Wang over 40 holes, going 1 up on the final hole to become the 2025 New Zealand Women’s Amateur Champion.
