Denmark’s broadcaster DR revealed plans for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026 during a meeting with the fan club melodigrandprixfans.dk at Herlev Medborgerhus on Nov. 1, 2025.

Grand Prix chief Erik Struve Hansen said the show will take place Feb. 14, 2026, in Frederikshavn. DR plans changes to the stage, logo and graphics.

DR has not yet selected all competing songs, though some songs have been chosen. Some past acts will return. A group of eight fans will join the selection process and consult on song development. DR will also seek feedback from a group based outside Denmark.

Each of the eight entries will be staged so the production can expand for Eurovision. There will be no changes to the contest or voting rules. Jurors will be chosen for work in music and performance, and all must have ties to Melodi Grand Prix or Eurovision. Half the jury will be from Denmark and half from abroad.

DR will name two hosts on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, one man and one woman. Hansen said one host may surprise fans. Ticket sales will open Friday, Nov. 7, 2025.

The details were given at a talk at the fan club meeting.
