On November 3, Google announced partnerships with Florida State University and the state of Arkansas to expand the ‘AI Education Accelerator’ program, offering free AI training and certification to students and professionals across the United States. Florida State University will be the first to launch the ‘Google People Management Essentials’ certificate course, an eight-hour self-paced program that leverages AI tools such as Gemini and NotebookLM to train leadership skills like goal setting, project planning, and communication management.
In collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Commerce, Google is providing free online training to residents aged 18 and above, covering five-hour AI modules such as Google AI Essentials and Prompting Essentials, which teach prompt engineering and the use of AI. Residents can also earn certifications in popular skills like cybersecurity, data analysis, IT support, and digital marketing at no cost.
Similar collaborations are spreading across multiple states, including Oklahoma, Tennessee, Maryland, and North Carolina, with over a hundred universities now integrated into Google’s AI education ecosystem. This marks a significant implementation of Google’s $1 billion AI education initiative announced in August this year.
