The lifestyle company Ennismore, which owns The Hoxton brand, has already announced that it will open a new hotel in Madrid in 2026, located at the picturesque Plaza de Santa Ana. The new Hoxton will not just bring forward a fresh and captivating hospitality choice for the visitors, but also play a substantial role in uplifting the local tourism industry of Madrid.
The Hoxton Madrid: A New Hub for Tourists
The new hotel will be The Hoxton’s second in Spain, following the success of its Barcelona property, which opened in 2022. Designed to reflect the character and vibrancy of its surroundings, The Hoxton Madrid will occupy a modernist-style building by renowned architect Jesús Carrasco-Muñoz y Encina. The refurbishment of the property will be overseen by Petra AM, with Urban Input Group, the team behind The Hoxton’s Paris and Barcelona hotels, providing design and development expertise.
Sharan Pasricha, founder and co-CEO of Ennismore, expressed his excitement about the Madrid opening, noting that the Spanish capital has always been a key destination on the brand’s expansion map. He highlighted that the Hoxton’s new location would perfectly complement the city’s dynamic neighbourhood, filled with culture, history, and outstanding culinary experiences.
A Hub of Modern Design and Comfort
Once completed, The Hoxton Madrid will feature 192 stylish guest rooms and suites, offering both comfort and style for business and leisure travellers alike. The hotel will focus on creating spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional for its visitors, with an open-plan lobby designed for relaxation and social interaction. A highlight of the hotel will be the all-day coffee bar and lounge, offering a relaxed yet sophisticated environment for guests to unwind.
Additionally, the Il Bambini Club, a chic bar with an open kitchen, will serve as a culinary hub for guests and locals, while the rooftop bar Cayo Coco promises to be an exciting destination in its own right. Known for its success in Vienna, Cayo Coco will offer guests sweeping views of the Madrid skyline while they enjoy signature cocktails and light bites. The rooftop space is set to be one of the prime spots in the city, attracting both hotel guests and Madrid locals seeking a stylish venue to meet and socialise.
Ennismore’s European Expansion
The Hoxton Madrid is just one part of Ennismore’s broader European expansion plan. The brand has several other exciting openings lined up in cities such as Oslo, Kraków, and Hamburg, as well as global locations like Melbourne and Nashville. With its contemporary design and laid-back atmosphere, The Hoxton aims to redefine the hospitality experience for modern travellers, and Madrid is set to be the perfect addition to this expanding portfolio.
Boosting Tourism in Madrid
Madrid continues to be one of Europe’s top tourist destinations, with millions of visitors flocking to the city each year to explore its rich history, art, and culture. The Hoxton Madrid is expected to play a key role in enhancing the city’s tourism offerings by providing a unique and stylish accommodation option that caters to modern travellers. Its central location in the lively Plaza de Santa Ana will put guests within easy reach of some of Madrid’s most iconic attractions, further bolstering the hotel’s appeal to tourists.
