Patients in Jersey City are scrambling to find new doctors after Optum announced that it will close dozens of medical offices throughout New Jersey within the next month. A division of UnitedHealth Group, Optum began notifying current patients of the closures this week. Thousands of patients throughout Hudson and Essex counties are affects, as are residents elsewhere around the state.

One Optum patient who reached out to the Jersey City Times said her family was “completely blindsided” by the announcement, which they received Tuesday.
