During the past week Ukraine slightly increased the transfer of grain cargoes through the railway border crossings with Hungary and Romania, while at the borders with Slovakia and Poland the figures decreased. This was stated by Valerii Tkachov, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Operations of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.

Thus, as of November 12, an average of 40.2 grain railcars per day were heading to Hungary, which is 16.9 units more than at the end of October. The increase in the transfer at the border with Romania is estimated at 6.3 cars/day, to 9.6 cars/day.

Regarding the other crossings, at the border with Poland the transfer volumes decreased by 4.1 cars/day, to 6.75 cars/day, and with Slovakia by 1.9 cars/day, to 13.5 cars/day.

“The total average daily transfer of grain cargoes and meals as of November 12 amounted to 154 cars/day, which is 19 cars/day (or 14%) higher than the figure at the end of October,” added V. Tkachov.
