In remarks published Tuesday, market research firm Gartner predicted that rather than producing the “jobs apocalypse” that many have feared, AI will instead cause “jobs chaos”: a general ripple effect throughout the labor market wherein virtually every business has to adapt, in varying ways, to the arrival of intelligent machines that are better at some tasks than human employees — but that also, importantly, fall short in other areas.Â
AI is fantastic, but they change so fast that you also have to change the prompting, from week to week. So you can’t make them do long term tasks. But maybe in two or three years.
Make an AI agent that answers questions at your website, it looks amazing in the start, after two weeks it tells customers about futures your product doesn’t have or prices that are not real.
And the one that Gartner cares about – AI being used to generate the consultancy reports that justify the C-Suite cutting jobs whilst increasing bonuses to themselves.

One bit of chaos that is absolutely guaranteed is companies getting some benefit from AI and then the vendor jacks the prices up by an order of magnitude because there aren’t enough customers to pay the bills at current pricing.
