    Saw this on Hacker News this morning and it stuck with me on how any kind of industrial policy, especially in healthcare, ends up looking pretty similar in the long run.

    No matter where you start from, the systems seem to converge on the same big problems: funding research, trying to control costs, and making sure people can actually get the care.

    It’s weird how that happens. And since this kind of funding and research is only going to get more important for the future, it feels like a pattern worth understanding, because we do need medical research and industrial policy.
