Two Navasota KickStart students medaled at the 2025 World Martial Arts Games in Osolo, Norway. Grace Mendez and Isabella Price both have black belts and became members of Team USA in October 2024. They competed in various performance and combat events against worldwide competitors including Norway, Great Britian, Germany, Czech Republic, Mexico and Sweeden. Mendez earned gold in Creative Weapons Performance, silver in Traditional Japanese Performance and bronze medals in Traditional Korean Performance and Creative Open Hand Performance. Price earned silver in Creative Weapons Musical Performance and Creative Open Hand Performance, bronze in kickboxing and Creative Open Hand Performance. They are under the direction of Master Benjamin Mendez.
