The Government approved humanitarian and development aid totalling some BGN 2.382 million to support Ukraine, the civilian population of the Gaza Strip, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, and other countries, said the Government’s press office on Wednesday. The assistance will be provided as voluntary contributions to international organizations.
The funds will be directed to established international organizations, including the UN Refugee Agency, UNICEF, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the World Food Programme, the International Organization for Migration, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Environment Programme, UN Women, the UN Population Fund, the European Endowment for Democracy, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Organization for security and Cooperation in Europe and others.Â
The necessary funding will be provided from the budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, allocated for development and humanitarian assistance.
