Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Season 2 debuted with all the noise and excitement but quickly lost its charm, unlike Season 1, which roared, impressed, and stirred widespread buzz.

Even before the fate of Wednesday Season 2 was unfurled, Season 3 was greenlit. Expectedly, Season 3 will dig deeper into tales of Nevermore and the Addams family. Ortega has her ideas as well, and according to her, just as you might expect from Wednesday (the character), Season 3 should lean toward a darker version of Wednesday. She hopes for a stronger bond between her character and Morticia.

Speaking to GamesRadar+ in Los Angeles, Jenna revealed her ideas. She said, “I would like them [Morticia and Wednesday] to stop arguing and team up. We’d just been talking about women banding together, and you see that a bit in the final episode, or episodes. I think we should lean into that. It’s really exciting and refreshing to see women displayed that way.”

She went on to add, “I think it’s important to see Wednesday deal with the darker side of herself a little bit, too – but also never taking things too seriously. And I would like to see more death attempts between her and Pugsley. She doesn’t try to kill him enough! I want to see stuff like that.”

These ideas will no doubt add intriguing layers to the upcoming season, but the weight of these changes could only be felt if Netflix can speed up production. One risk Wednesday faced was the long gaps between seasons, which undoubtedly contributed to diminishing excitement and fans losing interest in what’s next for Wednesday.

Season 3 is expected to begin filming very soon, with rumoured release dates in 2027.
