Six part foodie series Shane Delia’s Malta premieres at SBS Food on Monday.

Shane Delia heads to stunning Malta on a personal journey to uncover the history, cuisine and culture of this Mediterranean archipelago. Starting in the present, each episode sees Shane travel further back in time to explore the legacy left by each culture, from the British all the way back to the Phoenicians and Malta’s original neolithic settlers.

Episode One:
Shane Delia arrives in Malta to see how modern Maltese cuisine is grounded in its traditions and history. Starting in the fishing village of Marsaxlokk, he discovers a cuisine that relies on the bounty of the Mediterranean. He visits his family’s hometown of Zetjun, island hops across to Gozo and cooks up his own versions of some Maltese classic recipes.
