In a vote that ended Nov. 21, Cincinnati.com readers selected the 2025-2026 Cincinnati Enquirer/Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Athletes of the Week from high school sports action through Nov. 16.

Here are this week’s winners.

Fall sports

Ohio football team: Elder – The Panthers pulled off an improbable 23-point comeback to beat Princeton 32-30.

Northern Kentucky/Indiana football team: Newport – Newport handed Holy Cross its first loss with smothering defense, winning 18-3.

Boys fall team: Summit Country Day soccer – The Silver Knights defeated Ottawa Hills 5-1 on Nov. 10, securing the Division V state championship.

Ohio big-school football: Colin Wooldridge, La Salle – He led the defense with 10 tackles, six solo, with a sack and two tackles for loss and helped the Lancers limit Anderson to three offensive touchdowns in the Lancers’ 35-28 loss. He also forced a fumble and scored a rushing touchdown.

Ohio small-school football: Evan List, Mariemont – He had five catches for 115 yards and a touchdown in the Warriors’ 31-14 loss to Lewistown Indian Lake.

Northern Kentucky/Indiana football: Kaleb Evans, Lloyd Memorial – He completed all nine of his passing attempts for 148 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Henry County. Through two postseason games, he has a 100 percent completion percentage (18-of-18).

Winter sports

Boys bowling: Brayden George, Fairfield – He led the team with a 421 series (228-193) during their season-opening tournament at the Fairfield Rollhouse.

Girls bowling: Alyssa Bechtol, Notre Dame – In a 6-1 win over Conner, the sophomore set the team records for single game (257) and two-game series (466). She also led the Pandas to a tournament championship Nov. 15.

Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys swimming and diving: Sam Ishmael, Scott – He took third place in the 50-yard breaststroke in 31.29 seconds and fourth place in the 100-yard individual medley in 1:02.22 at the Russell County Laker Preview.

Northern Kentucky/Indiana girls swimming and diving: Abigail Bush, Scott – She took third place in the 50-yard butterfly in 31.26 seconds, improved her time in the 50-yard backstroke to place fifth in 33.56 seconds, and helped three relays to top-three finishes at the Russell County Laker Preview.
