Political scientist Donika Emini spoke about the appearance of acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti at the EU Growth Plan Summit held in Tirana.

On the “Info Magazine” show on Klan Kosova, she stated that Kosovo cannot issue ultimatums to the European Union, while being asked about Kurti’s statement that it is the last time he will ask the bloc to lift the measures on Kosovo.

“This only reflects Kosovo’s strained relations with the European Union. It is impossible to give the EU such an ultimatum given the fact that we had a year to vote on the Growth Plan and we have not done so.”

“This means that it is a hypocrisy of the entire elite in Kosovo, which constantly accuses the EU of lifting the measures and demands the lifting of the measures. But, on the other hand, it has not approved the Growth Plan, which treats Kosovo equally with all countries in the region, gives Kosovo funds to reform, and Kosovo has had the most advanced reform plan, which it requested last year and has not yet approved such a thing,” said Emini.

The same claimed that the statement of the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, shows that the EU has lost patience with Kosovo.

“This is normally very good, because Marta Kos is one of the most vocal commissioners, who for the first time addressed Bosnia and Kosovo in such a way. This shows that patience has been lost in Brussels in relation to Kosovo,” said Emini.
