Journalist Shkumbin Pireva offers his view on the draw, saying that for him Slovakia, although an experienced national team, is a passable national team for Kosovo.
He also revealed the national teams he had hoped the ‘Dardans’ would avoid.
“I believe the draw is probably the most positive possible. Especially for Slovakia, the first match with Slovakia, I believe that over 80% of Kosovo fans and sports connoisseurs wanted Slovakia as their opponent.”
“Since we believe that to some extent the level of the national teams is equal. I personally have been categorically against us playing against Wales.”
“I didn’t want Wales as an opponent because we have a lot of problems with island teams, both us and Albania.”
“Teams that play physically with long balls, with crosses, cause us a lot of problems and that’s why I didn’t like Wales either, but to some extent I was also afraid of the Czech Republic as an opponent because of their height and long balls,” Pireva said, among other things.
