An Air France flight departing for Paris made a precautionary return to Buenos Aires after reporting the smell of smoke on board on 20 November 2025.
Air France flight AF411, operated by an Airbus A350-900, had conducted a departure from runway 11 Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE).
The aircraft was performing a routine scheduled service bound for Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).

During the initial climb after departure, flight crew reported the smell of smoke on board the aircraft. A PAN PAN urgency message was transmitted and the climb procedure was terminated at flight level FL170.
A precautionary return to Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport was then carried out. The aircraft subsequently landed without further incident on runway 11, just over 30 minutes after the flight’s initial departure.

The flight rotation to Paris was cancelled as a result of the aircraft unserviceability.

Flight data shows that Air France flight AF411 had made a departure out of Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport at 11:16 PM local time on 20 November.
Following the departure from runway 11, flight crew terminated the departure procedure at flight level FL170. A direct return to the departure airport was then carried out.

The aircraft conducting the AF411 rotation to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport was an Airbus A350-900, registered F-HTYT. This is a 3.2 year old widebody aircraft belonging to the national carrier Air France.
It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in November 2022.
