November 24 – LaLiga’s Villarreal CF has launched its first official academy in North Macedonia.

Based in the capital city of Skopje, this new academy joins the global network of academies that use Villarreal’s methodology for developing young footballers and coaches. The pathway gives players opportunity to travel to Spain for training and potentially professional opportunities.

The Villarreal Masters Academy is run by Darko Glisic, who professionally for clubs including Dinamo Tbilisi (Georgia) and FK Vardar (North Macedonia), among others in Europe.

“This partnership with Villarreal is very significant,” explained Glisic. “The club is globally recognised for its success in developing talent through a proven methodology that combines technical, tactical, physical, and mental growth. Through its partnership with Villarreal, Villarreal Masters Academy provides a professional structure, certified training, and direct access to international football opportunities. This partnership reflects a shared vision: to elevate the level of youth football and create pathways for players to reach their full potential.”

Brandon Paramo, Villarreal’s International Business Manager, said: “In collaboration with our local partners, this project will provide young players and coaches with the opportunity to develop within Villarreal’s renowned methodology and values. This represents another important step in our mission to promote player development and strengthen the club’s global network through high achievement and shared passion for football.”

Last month the Spanish club also opened an academy in the Romanian city of Sibiu. Villarreal currently has more than 30 partner centres around the world, from the United States to Australia, as well as Mexico, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea.
