The NA Inline Tigers got back into the win column defeating the Shaler Area Titans by a score of 8-5 on Sunday at the RMU Island Sports Center.
The Titans initiated the scoring in the first period, marking the only two goals and taking a 2-0 lead into the second period.
Although the second period began with a Titan goal, it was all Tigers for the remainder of the frame starting with a tip-in by junior Christian Mark assisted by junior Marcus Garcia. The Tigers continued the scoring with goals from Garcia and junior Liam Huey, both unassisted. The goals kept coming as Garcia notched his second goal of the frame assisted by Mark and Mark followed suit with his second goal assisted by Garcia closing out the second with a NA 5-3 lead.
The Titans battled back and scored the first two goals of the third period, tying the game at 5-5 at the five-minute mark. It would be the Tigers finishing the game strong, claiming the final three goals of the period. Senior Matthew Noffsinger notched the next two goals both assisted by Mark and it was Mark scoring the empty net goal to close out the game with an 8-5 win.
Senior goalie Claudia Kushon earns the win as the Tiger record improves to 5-6. The Tigers will resume play on Sunday, December 14th at 11 AM against the Seneca Valley Raiders at the RMU Island Sports Center. Â
