The Kosovo Police’s specialized FAST unit has arrested a person wanted by an international arrest warrant from INTERPOL, the Kosovo Police confirms.
The arrest was carried out at around 13:30 PM, in cooperation with other relevant units of the Kosovo Police, following an operation coordinated by the Directorate for International Police Cooperation.
The arrested person, a foreign citizen – reportedly a Turkish citizen – was wanted by the authorities of another country on suspicion of committing criminal offenses involving the exploitation of minors and unlawful deprivation of liberty.
The suspect was escorted for further procedures, while by decision of the prosecutor in charge, he was ordered to be detained for 48 hours, to then continue with legal procedures according to international police cooperation agreements.
Kosovo Police has emphasized that such operations remain a priority in the fight against cross-border crime and ensuring public safety.
